Keep AIA COTE, Time to Scrap AIA Awards

Hi all - Reflecting on the COTE Top Ten Awards and Lloyd Alter's recent article  https://www.treehugger.com/green-architecture/keep-aiacotes-its-time-scrap-aia-awards.html, I am curious how many local/state AIA awards programs have incorporated sustainability reporting metrics as a requirement for all awards submissions, not just for categories with a sustainable focus? AIA Portland Design Awards has required all projects submitting to include a completed C02 Emissions Calculator for ten+ years but has not expanded into any reporting criteria beyond that.

I had a hunch this topic had been discussed before in this group. I found a rich thread from 2018 that covered this same topic. https://www.buildinggreen.com/forum/aia-design-awards-philadelphia-question Heather DeGrella AIA, LEED AP BD+C, EAC-PS | sustainable design director, senior associate | she / her / hers | opsis architecture LLP | o:503.525.9511 d:503.943.6228 | www.opsisarch.com
