Commercial heat pump hot water

Has anyone used a commercial heat pump water heater for a large protect?  I have found a few manufacturers for this technology, but want to make sure this is a viable and cost approach to electrical eliminate gas on a path to all electric.

For large central domestic hot water heat pumps, I would recommend looking at Colmac. Is the project residential or non-res? For all folks looking to transition to heat pumps for domestic hot water production, make sure your engineers are getting full performance curves from the manufacturers for your design day conditions. Air-source heat pumps have reduced efficiency at low outside air temperatures and their capacity falls as well. If this is taken into account when sizing units, then they work great. If not, you’re likely to end up with insufficient capacity and iced-over condensers. Similar to Stet Sanborn, I also recommend Colmac for water-source (ground source) heat pumps to generate domestic hot water.  We are using this approach on a large healthcare project in Massachusetts.
