We are working on a comprehensive renovation and addition of an Art Center at an independent high school. The project will be phased; existing system upgrades and building renovation in phase 1 and additions and new systems in phase 2. Phase 1 will be completed before Phase 2 begins. I just want to confirm that phasing the Cx of building systems is okay (vs. commissioning everything at the end of Phase 2) and welcome any advice on hurdles to look out for. We are likely to pursue Option 1 Path 1 of Enhanced Cx as well.

This has a lot to do with how you plan to certify. The form of your question seems to indicate that it is one project with phased construction and you will seek to certify the whole project at completion. In that case, phasing the Cx would be the best option with both a Phase 1 and Phase 2 report what together show the total project has been commissioned. It is always better to commission systems as they are completed.
