Hi everyone,
I am using the building area method to calculate the lighting power for the parking garage. The Baseline building garage lighting power is 57.42 kW and the Designed lighting power is 23.64 kW. Should I reduce these values by 10% to account for the occupancy control required by section 9.4.1.3?
Thank you,

No the Proposed should be modeled as designed. The baseline should be modeled to include the provisions of 9.4.1.3. You only ever use the 10% when none of the provisions of 9.4 apply.

Hello Saif. Unfortunately, since the requirements of Section 9.4.1.3 are mandatory, credit cannot be claimed for lighting controls for occupancy control under ASHRAE 90.1-2010. I believe the credit you are attempting to claim is in reference to Appendix G TABLE G3.2 Power Adjustment Percentages for Automatic Lighting Controls. Application of this credit/savings can only be applied to areas where there are not already mandatory requirements for lighting controls.
