Hi All,

Originally in the Credit language Option 2:

"Financial support must be provided to a nationally or locally recognized land trust or conservation organization within the same EPA Level III ecoregion or the project’s state (or within 100 miles of the project [160 kilometers] for projects outside the U.S.)."

So, we were trying to contact different organization that may have programme within 160km of our site.

I would like to ask if we are now able to achieve 1 point in "SSc Site Development-Protect or Restore Habitat" by providing required amount of financial support to NFWF or FAS without any other constraint (e.g. within 160km from site)? "Pilot-Credits SSpc83: Offsite Financial Support for Habitat Protection"

Hi Yoyo, yes you can replace the normal SSc2 Site Development credit with Pilot Credit 83. This webpage: https://www.usgbc.org/node/5052535?return=/pilotcredits/New-Construction/v4 confirms PC83 is applicable for BDC v4 projects. And there's no distance requirement for the pilot credit, but as you point out, you have to donate to NFWF or FAS. Remember to also register for the Pilot Credit and complete all the requirements (e.g. the feedback survey and participate in the LEEDuser credit forum for PC83 at https://leeduser.buildinggreen.com/credit/Pilot-Credits/SSpc83).

Hi Trista, thanks for getting back to me.  When you say i can replace normal SSc2 Site Development credit with Pilot Credit 83. Does it means it could count towards SSc2 credit under Sustainable Site or it will be counted as a pilot credit under Innovation. Please share your view.  Thanks!

Can i also get exemplary performance if i double the financial support, as in the option 2 of the credit SS Site Development-Protect and Restore Habitat?

Hi Silvia - I believe if you replace SSc2 you'd be allowed to claim an EP point because that's allowed under the normal credit. If your certification level depends on this additional point, it'd probably be worth confirming with USGBC/GBCI.
