NC-v4 EAc2:Optimize energy performance

Savings from economizers for boilers for manufacturing proces

Dear All,

Our design team want to propose economizers for our current manufacturing system to save energy cost from boilers. Can we claim this savings for our process energy (the process energy in the proposed design will be different from the baseline)?

Yes you can, follow the exceptional calculation procedure. Break out the savings separately, explain how you determined the savings and provide a narrative explanation of the strategies employed and a justification for the baseline. In your case you will need to demonstrate that the strategy is not standard industry practice in your location.

If it is thermal storage for a process load then yes. If for space conditioning then you would not use the exceptional calculation method.
