Electric vehicles - EVSEs and EV Ready places

Hi!

Option 2. Electric Vehicle Charging Infrastructure requires that "A parking space with EVSE cannot also be counted as EV Ready". Does this mean that

  1. EVSE cannot be counted as EV Ready or
  2. EVSE cannot be counted as both EVSE and EV Ready?

If it is the first one, why can't option 2 be achieved with mix of both EVSEs and EV ready places? Why would e.g. 1 % EVSEs and 5 % EV ready places be worse than 6 % EV ready places?

Good question...the way I read it is the first one, that EVSE spaces cannot count as EV ready. I interpret that to mean that Option 2 is all about setting the project up for future EVSE demand, and assumes any existing EVSE spaces are meeting current demand.    This makes sense to me, coming from a big US city with relatively low EV usage - we have a similar set of options in our city's sustainable development policy - most of our projects will include a couple EV chargers but we expect demand to grow soon and encourage them to add infrastructure for future charging now.    Since Option 1 is only 2% of spaces, it seems like that would cover other locations where the current demand for EVSE is higher.
