I am working on an ID+C Retail project at a shopping center and our team would like to pursue this Pilot Credit. Do we calculate only our Interior project's annual water budget, which only has interior water fixture uses, Or do we have to include calculations for the process water from the shopping center's central water cooling plant?
The credit language states: "Purchase Water Restoration Certificates® (WRCs) to match the building’s annual water budget based on WE credit calculations (indoor, outdoor, and process (chiller, cooling towers, commercial kitchens, healthcare water systems as applicable) water use annual projections)"
and it has no different guidance for ID+C projects.

Hi Jonathan,
I am working on an ID+C:CI v4 project that is pursuing this Pilot credit. My understanding is that ID+C projects would purchase WRC's to match the Project's annual water budget based on WE credit calculations, since ID+C projects can only respond to the water use within their project scope.
I agree that seeing the word 'building' in the ID+C version of the credit language is confusing (IMO many ID+C credits create unnecessary confusion by reusing the BD+C language), but I think the key here is 'based on credit calculations' - My recommendation would be to complete the Indoor Water Use Reduction Calculator (including any base building fixture use such as restrooms), and then use the resulting total annual design water consumption as a basis for the WRC's.

Jonathan,
BEF needs all Water Efficiency calculations for indoor, outdoor, and process (chiller, cooling towers, commercial kitchens, healthcare water systems, etc) on an annual basis. Hope this helps!
