NC-v4 EQc2:Low emitting materials

Custom Gypsum Product - General Emissions Evaluation

Hi LEEDUser community,

I wanted to confirm that even in the instance of a custom gypsum product - Glassfiber Reinforced Gypsum- that it is required to meet the general emissions evaluation requirements for ceilings, walls, thermal, and acoustic insulation. This requirements seems to be more difficult when working with local or small businesses.

Additionally, I wanted to seek guidance on how other projects might have demonstrated exceptions for custom products aside from instances where the product is inherently nonemitting.

Thank you!

I would like to think that the credit category is for "Ceiling insulation, wall insulation, thermal insulation, and acoustic insulation." This makes more sense to me than including other wall assembly components. LEED v 4.1 is clear for that category: "The insulation material category includes all thermal and acoustic boards, batts, rolls, blankets, sound attention fire blankets, foamed-in place, loose-fill, blown, and sprayed insulation."
