CI-v4 EQc2:Low emitting materials

Substituting v4 with a v4.1 compliant approach

Is it possible to provide documentation in line with the v4.1 requirements for a LEEDv4 regsitered project? We're looking specifically at the Low Emitting Materials strategy, which is the same value of points.

Thanks,

Hi Stacy, Yes, all credits in v4.1 are allowed to be substituted in v4 projects, subject to some minor restrictions. Guidance on this can be found on pages 9=10 of the v4.1 Beta Guide: https://build.usgbc.org/bdc41betareq

Much appreciated!

My first reaction to reviewing the upgrade to v4.1 was that it seemed like a no-brainer.  The more CDPH v1.1-2010 documentation I hunt down makes me think finding CDPH 2017 documentation will be exponentially more difficult to gather.  The more I think about it, it seems like the trade off for dropping from 90% compliance to 75% is steeper than I would have thought on first glance, once you factor in whether you can actually document the newer standard.  I'm curious what others' thoughts are. Thanks!

Hi DuWayne, We wondered about that too. Though of course all products that get certification are on a recertification cycle and will eventually catch up. The USGBC has indicated to us that they will accept v1.1-2010 documentation for a v4.1 credit substitution at least while the program is in beta. So we are back to it's a no brainer for now.

That's great info, thanks!
