Hi All,
Would you mind helping me with calculating furniture-like items build on site? As counting layers of some assembly may be doable, counting surfaces tor a 3D item may be challenging.
We have a lot of build on-site furniture, like kitchen cabinets, seating and shelving. How it should be calculated in option 2? The ref guide states (tab 5, page 351) that 'Total emitting surface area of built-in cabinetry is the area exposed to the interior'.
Should I count parts of the furniture separately as a wall and some as a floor? The kitchen countertop as a subcategory of a wall system or floor?
What about the inside parts of cabinets. In the ref guide, it states that only the area exposed to the interior counts, but fiew lines later/lower it states that inside core must be compliant with CARB.
How the compliance should be counted for the cabinetry (assembly)?: 1st surface - paint for the MDF doors, 2nd surface - MDF, 3rd surface - furniture board for the back. Then I should add also wall surface behind the cabinetry (treated as assembly also)? 4th surface -paint, 5th surface assemblies for the gypsum wall?
Am I missing sth?
