Dear All,

we are working in a project of a new airport pursuing LEED certification.

Regarding LT Bicycle facilities:

  1. peak transients are mainly passengers that are not expected to use bicycles to travel to the airport (e.g., baggage, etc.);
  2. is there any alternative to calculate the short-term bicycle storage places other than the 2,5% of peak transients required for other building types ?

Hi Ricardo, Alana and Mackenzie, I am not sure how you are counting peak transients, but I'd like to share this thought: "Peak transient" is totally different that "daily transient". Let's assume 1,000 pasengers per hour, and also that each passenger stays for one hour in the airport. While the "daily transients" are 24.000 passengers, the "peak transients" are 1,000 concurrent passengers (at the same time) at the airport. Thus, the short-term bicycle storage would be only #25, which requires a manageable space. I hope this helps,
