The LEED v3 reference book already refers to ASHRAE 90.1 "with errata but without addenda." The v4 book only says "with errata." Does that imply that all addenda to ASHRAE 90.1 must be followed? I am thinking specifically of addendum bz, which covers electrical energy monitoring. Thank you!

No, addenda have always been optionally applied, not required.

For v4, is there a reason it does not explicitly say "without addenda" anymore? Was it just too confusing as written in v3? Wanting to be sure nothing is going to come back and bite us on a project we are working on.

You would have to ask the EA TAG why that change was made. My guess is that it was simply redunant to reference a particular version of the standard and then say without addenda which are intended to change/update that standard.

Thank you! How do I contact the TAG? It is not apparent on the USGBC site.
Either way, I am seeking documentation stating LEEDv4 does not require Addenda to 90.1-2010.

Craig, Since the TAGs are volunteers who meet every couple of weeks by call, you might get a quicker answer from a LEED Coach - the technical customer service staff. Using the standard email address (leedinfo at usgbc...org ) it should get routed to them.

Craig,
Contacting the TAG is similar to finding the A-Team or Batman.
But before you go emailing the TAG know that, if this was approved by the TAG 3 or more years ago, then the current TAG (cough, cough) might not be able to provide much guidance given that most serve 4 or 5 yr terms. And generally USGBC staff propose changes and the TAG approves it with or without modifications. It's possible staff made this change or that it was suggested and approved by TAG members. The end result is the same, but TAG members might not have any notes on the particulars.
...and for those really looking to kill some time down rabbit holes, the TAG meeting minutes are posted online--maybe annually. You might find it there. The records go back to when Marcus was chair. Or if you really want to know, then someone like Gail, Corey or Sara might know. And someone like Emma or Brendan who are no longer on staff might talk. We'll have to burn this thread and come up with aliases.

All - Do we have any officially pubilshed guidance like LEED Addenda to confirm ASHRAE 90.1 "with errata but without addenda." for LEED v4 projects? Can anyone share it here?
