Hello everyone! There hasn’t been much activity on this forum in recent months, so we wanted to give an update about what’s been happening and things coming up.
Firstly, we are very excited for the upcoming inaugural SCL Summit the day before Greenbuild. We currently have about 20 people signed up for the Summit and we are expecting a few more.
For anyone who is going to be around Tuesday, we’ll plan to get drinks and food after the Summit, and all SCL’ers are welcome whether you’re a part of the Summit or not. If you’re interested in doing that, please email myself and Jenn so we can get a headcount for a reservation: sburke@consigli.com and Jennifer.Taranto@structuretone.com.
Right now we have 45 people who are a part of the SCL group. The group has grown a lot in the first year, and we’ll likely continue to get a few more after Greenbuild this year. It’s encouraging to know that there are this many of us around the country, working in construction and dedicated to better projects and a better future.
We have two important surveys coming up: A company profile survey, and a salary survey. With 45 people in the SCL group, we have a good sample size if everyone responds. In the first survey, we want to know how our companies are setup and focusing on sustainability. In the second survey, we will look at how we are compensated. The salary survey will be anonymous and adjusted for cost of living. I hate surveys as much as the next person, but they can be extremely helpful, so PLEASE(!) help us by filling out both surveys when you receive them from Building Green.
Lastly, we’ll have updates about what is next for the group after the Summit, but in the meantime, I want to encourage everyone to use the forum to share your project questions or solutions you’ve come across. This is a powerful resource at your disposal, so don’t be afraid to use it.
Also, thank you Building Green for hosting the forum on their site, coordinating the Summit with us, and helping us with these surveys. We wouldn’t be able to do it without them!
