The LEED User guidance on this credit includes the following sentence: "But just by switching things up a little you can still make this work, since you’re allowed to include up to five products from any one manufacturer." I've checked the LEED NC v4 reference guide, and don't see any language limiting project teams to using no more than five products from one manufacturer. There is a limitation that you need products from at least five different manufacturers, but nothing stating that you are limited to a certain number of products per manufacturer. Was there an addendum addressing this that I may have missed?

Thank you for catching this, Elizabeth! This was a misinterpretation that we had a while back, and somehow failed to correct in that section. It now reads "…you’re allowed to include multiple products from any one manufacturer, as long as at least five different manufacturers are represented." That's also consistent with the FAQ on this topic.

Hi Nadav! Well I have another question - sort of along the same vein, but slightly different. Today, LEED interpretation 10425 was brought to my attention. This interpretation, dated October 1, 2015 states, "A single industry-wide (generic) EPD can be used for up to 10 products listed within the industry-wide EPD, provided that each application has separately reported impacts within the EPD."
It sounds like this Iimitation applies only to industry-wide EPD's, not third party verified Type III EPDs. I'm confused by the part about each application having separately reported impacts within the EPD. Has anyone had experience with this issue? I'm not sure what reviewers will be looking for to verify that each application has separately reported impacts.
