Initial Water Storage

Can you provide the definition of the Estimated TR-55 Initial Water Storage? This term is not defined in TR-55.

I don't know much about TR-55 either, but on a recent project our civil engineer said they did not typically calculate this. They provided a brief narrative for the worksheet about the stormwater evaluations they DID do, and the credit was awarded without comment. Essentially they showed the project team was meeting the credit intent of assessing the stormwater volume/rate/runoff vs infiltration potential and responding to it, if not using the specific method listed in the credit language.

I'm surprised that there is still no answer to this.  Want do they want us to put in for this: "Estimated TR-55 initial water storage capacity".
My SWM designers completed their design per MD standards and received concept approval from the state, and they do not know what USGBC wants them to do for this number.

Hi Brian, Luckily there is a simple answer to this now! Upgrade the credit to v4.1. The only change in this credit between v4 and v4.1 is that they removed the TR-55 reference and instead ask more general questions about rainwater.

Haven't seen a new one, but I have successfully submitted the v4 worksheet with "The TR-55 requirement was removed in v4.1" entered in the TR-55 box and the v4.1 rainwater info captured either there or elsewhere in the sheet.

Technical Release 55 (TR-55) presents simplified procedures to calculate storm runoff volume, peak rate of discharge, hydrographs, and storage volumes required for floodwater reservoirs. These procedures are applicable in small watersheds, especially urbanizing watersheds, in the United States, other local equivalant for projects outside USA
