CS-v4 LTc7:Reduced parking footprint

Disabled Parking Space

Hello,

I'm working on a project which intends to have one parking space for disabled access only. I'm wondering if this parking space would still need to be addressed in the requirements or whether it could be discounted and we could go down the 'no off street parking route'?

If we do not need to consider it, I have noted the other forums discussions and the technical requirements "projects with no associated off-street parking automatically achieve credit compliance; no calculations or preferred parking spaces are required".

Many thanks

Gail

Hi Gail, I think it makes the most sense to follow the "no parking" option, since the only space on site cannot be used for carpool or LE/FE preferred parking (or even general use). I saw this situation a handful of times as a reviewer and had no issue approving it.   That's assuming there's no additional parking outside the LEED project boundary, for example a shared campus lot. If parking is provided elsewhere, including outside the boundary, it must be counted.

Thanks very much Emily for your speedy response. This does make sense and thanks for validating my thought process. The development is an office in central London, with no 'off site' parking. Many thanks Gail
