NC-v4 MRc4:Building product disclosure and optimization - material ingredients

Melamine-Urea-Formaldehyde

Hi, I've been asked if our products contain "Melamine-Urea-Formaldehyde". Our suppliers address the urea-formaldehyde, but this is my first time seeing the word "Melamine" used like this (I know what a melamine panel is), so I don't know how to respond. - thanks.

LEED Interpretation 10250 is almost certainly where that language is coming from: https://www.usgbc.org/content/li-10250 You'd know better than I would what to do with this information, but hopefully it's a good start. Note that this was a clarification to LEED v2009, so it only applies to v2009 projects. LEED v4 references the CARB ULEF standard for all composite wood, whether it contains melamine or not.

Yes, that was very helpful. I think we're good since we meet the CARB criteria. Thanks so much for the reply.
