Hi LEED experts,

My project is a new construction dorm and building developer are requesting apartment owners to buy new efficient air conditioners that meets minimum COP as ASHRAE 90.1 required. However, very early on, some owners already moved in with their own existing air conditioners which don't meet that ASHRAE standard. These inefficient AC obviously affect energy saving but my concern is that Does ASHRAE 90.1 - Minimum COP requirement apply to these old AC that some owners already brought to the project?
