We have a project that contains a recycle bin storage area within a corridor. Do the exhaust calculations have to include the entire corridor space or can we designate an area around the recycle bins for the exhaust rate? As well, the project has a staff break room that contains lockers. Do we have to include the full break room square footage to calculate the exhaust air flow or can we show a boundary around the locker area just for determining this exhaust air flow. We want to make sure that our calculations meet the intent for this credit.

It is reasonable to exhaust a portion of the corridor for the recycle area. For the break room, having lockers which only serve as secure storage, does not require ventilation. A locker room requiring exhaust is based on people changing, showering, shaving, etc. It seems as though you are describing a small break room where people can store their things during their shift. If that is the case, I would ventilate it the same as any other break room. For both cases, it is wise to include a summary description of these decisions.
