Can I still earn this credit through green power or RECs alone?

Do onsite renewables count? 

The owner has purchased RECs for a percentage of energy use of its whole portfolio of buildings, or whole campus. Can we earn this credit for a single LEED building with this purchase?

The owner purchased RECs / carbon offsets based on an earlier prediction, but our energy model is now showing that we are just a little short of the credit threshold. What should we do?

We will have cogeneration onsite. Do the credit requirements apply to all electricity used onsite, or only that which is purchased from the grid?

Green power and carbon offsets

What does it mean for the Green power and carbon offset requirement to Engage in a contract for qualified resources..., for a minimum of five years, to be delivered at least annually ?

Does this mean that I have to sign a 5yr contract for GreenPower - or can I sign a 2-yr contract now and then sign contracts for the subsequent 3yrs at later dates?

Whatever agreement you sign has to be a sufficient green power/carbon offset purchase to offset 5 years worth of projected energy use. So no you can't sign a 2 year contract now and a 3 year contract later.

Is it acceptable, that we buy and retire whole 5 years consumption and not sign any contract?
