Bicycle racks distance

Hi,

In my Project, there are 2 bicycle areas :

- 1 at the same level as the entrance but the distance is more than 30 meters

- 1 in the basement, but a lift dedicated to bikes, is at a distance of 15 meters of the entrance

Is the basement bicycle area complies with leed requirement ?

Then you for your help,

Guillaume

Hi Guillaume, the basement sounds fine for long-term storage. For short-term storage, will it be clear/accessible to visitors?

Hi, Thank you for your answer. My project is an office building - Core & Shell. According to the appendix 2 of the v4, the number of transiants to consider for the dimensioning is 0 ! Those it mean that i don't need a short-term bicycle storage or i need one with 4 storage spaces ?   Thank you for your help

You would need 4 storage spaces.

Hi Emily Purcell a question regarding this, we have a zero lot line project so we can not have the bicycle racks near the main entrance, instead they are at the first basement next to the stairs.... If we have an accesible entrance do you think the can be considered as short term storage racks? Thanks in advance

Hi Chantal, I think the key thing for short term storage is that visitors who aren't familiar with the building should be able to find the bike racks. So if you have to locate them indoors like this, you'd want to document how signage, accessible entries, etc make them available to visitors.
