Hi, we are working on a residential building and filling out "Minimum IAQ performance" ventilation calculator. As per IMC we usually provide ventilation for dwelling unit based on number of people (15 cfm/person) but ASHRAE requires ventilation to be people based as well as area based so do we need to consider entire dwelling unit area including closet/bathroom for the calculation or can we exclude bathroom and closet area?

You should use the occupiable area and exclude exhaust driven areas like the bathroom.
