Thanks for the response Todd, much appreciated....but... I have the standard your referenced, and am still not seeing it. pages 8-9 don't seem include view factor numbers. what are you referring to when you state "ff 1-8"? (accessed June 12, 2013)? sorry for the questions, I am a HVAC guy by nature and this credit is a bit out of my comfort zone. thanks again.

Thanks Todd! I now understand 'view factor' and can confidently tell the project owner that I am positive that they will not achieve this credit on their project :)

Hi David, Could you please explain View factor again here?

Sadhana -  I recommend looking at the v4.1 credit and considering substituting it. It is more straightforward.  For View Factor - if you are using the online guide it is explained in detail under 'further explanation'. The view factor is determined by the view angle, which is the smaller number of either vertical or horizontal angle; refer to the chart for how that traslates to the view factor. Be sure to take note of the permanent interior obstructions criteria in the credit requirements. Most systems furniture is considered to be a permaenent interior obstruction. Good luck!
