I am working on a project where we are using a lot of custom furniture. All materials are Greenguard certified or SCS to comply with BIFMA requirements, however, they have not been tested all together. Can I request a credit interpretation? Is there someone I can talk to at USGBC?

Severine,
I can only speak as a manufacture who gets no break on testing when the actual assembly is not tested. It is usually the adhesives and final 3% of the assembly that typically throws the VOC levels off. My expectation would be that you will either have to have a custom chamber test for the custom assembly or forgo the credit. Again, this has been what my company has been held to as a manufacture but I would still keep pushing USGBC for the CIR. I felt bad that no one answered so maybe many will now come to tell you officially. Good luck.
