Hello,
I understand that with the v4 views calculations that gymnasiums may be excluded from the calculations but I was curious if other related areas such as dedicated fitness class studios, women's only fitness rooms, and open fitness areas where cardio machines or weight equipment can also be excluded?
Privacy is an issue for women's only fitness rooms and I don't feel like having a view is an important requirement while someone is taking an instructed fitness class.
Any thoughts on these?
Thank you in advance!

Hi Christine,
You can try taking this case to GBCI and see what they say (and please share what you learn, if you do!). But my guess would be that they won't be too flexible on this. There are ways you can provide views while still maintaining some privacy, or at least an option to make the space more private.

The only reason the gym's can be excluded is for safety concerns in having glass at levels where people can crash into it or balls. So if you show that there is a safety concern in those areas, then that would be a reasonable excuse. Free weight rooms might be acceptable. Since these spaces will not likely be soley dedicated to just women's fitness and could be used by other group's the argument for exclusion for privacy is not an acceptable excuse. Place privacy blinds in these spaces for when privacy may be an issue for a specific reason.
