Hi SDL: Please see attached letter to USGBC about the urgent need to address climate change in the next iteration of LEED v4. It's based on the realization that in the last few years it has become clear that climate change has become the dominant global threat to humans and our fellow species. And it has also become clear that the steep decline in the cost of renewable energy allows buildings to cost effectively achieve deep reductions in CO2 from operations. This has largely happened since the last LEED update, creating a tremendous opportunity for LEED through V 4.1 to take a global leadership role on this essential issue.
The letter was developed by a great group of leaders, led by Greg Kats, and has had a positive response from USGBC but we need more support to keep up the momentum. To simplify collecting of signatures, please respond directly to my email (maryannlazarus2@gmail.com) with your name, firm or institutional affiliation, LEED AP accreditation and I'll compile and pass on. The sooner the better!
Many thanks
Mary Ann
