Integrative Process for Health Promotion Pilot Credit (LEED)

We are currently going through the process on a university project focused on population health. I think overall the process is really great. Some lessons learned: - engage in this process EARLY; it takes time to investigate everything and actually incorporate changes into the design; fortunately we were already planning a lot of things (based on following WELL and Fitwel), so even though we engaged the process too late, a lot of the recommendations have been aligned to where our design was already trending - getting the right health professional advisors/stakeholders in the room is challenging; we tend to go on 'best available information' in the sustainability field, whereas health professionals are reluctant to recommend anything unless it has been proven through numerous experiments, trials, and whatnot; it's also a challenge to find folks that can bridge a health expertise with building expertise - did it change our design? not yet, but it might. Mostly it's been validating a lot of assumptions we were already making. - would we do it again? Not sure. Honestly, WELL and Fitwel seem to cover a lot of the knowledge base out there already. I would prefer to invest the level of effort in bringing social equity advisors and partners to the table instead next time. Hope that helps!
