Here are the proposed "guiding questions":
- How do other firms define 'design thinking'? Do they have a standard process used across projects and, if so, how they have made that take hold?
- How to get some designers to embrace energy modeling?
- Design and design thinking is the expertise that we add to the process of designing the built environment; how to convey that value to our clients?
- What design processes have been incorporated that have been successful in driving performance-based design thinking?
- What are others doing to facilitate the design decisions that lead to better performance? Are they utilizing tools or other resources such as internal experts/outside consultants?
- How to help shift the view of some from sustainable design being an 'add-on' that costs more?
- How to avoid losing design thinking when we separate and "metric-cise" sustainability out as a separate conversation?
- How to maintain a strong architectural vision while managing sustainability metrics?
- How we can better engage students in connecting design thinking and performance in studio?
- Could this be a way to engage those who care deeply about design and are not as focused on sustainability?
