Is all solid wood considered inherently non-emitting? I’ve seen sources that say only solid wood flooring counts as inherently non-emitting.

Our building is atypical, and the walls and ceilings are not clearly defined. How should we classify these components?

If a ceramic tile receives a top coat after it is manufactured, is it exempt from the credit requirements?

CI-v4 EQc2:Low emitting materials

How wide is the definition of coating?

Hi everyone.

We are checking the project written material of a LEED V.4. BD+C project in Copenhagen.

The developer chose the Option 1 of Low-emitting material credit and we only have to comply with low emitting paints, coatings, adhesives and sealants

Can you please help and explain how wide is the definition of coating? Is it only the last layer: lacquer, dust binder, wax, epoxy or is also the covering material: tiles, wood floor, vinyl, linoleum?

I apreciatte very much your help since is the first time we are going to build a LEED V.4 in our company. :-)

Hi Rita, In case of option 1, the term coatings refers to the products wet-applied to walls, floors, and ceilings only - meaning the last layer. By the way, in the case of two-component products, the evaluation has to occur in its ready-to-use form, after mixing. Held og lykke med projektet :-) (Good luck with the project). Reinhard

Hi Reinhard, What if we consider en linoleum floor. Is the glue behind the linoleum included in the option 1? or only the sealants and joints that are visible are included? Thank you very much. kind regards, Rita
