Baseline Ventilation Rate for Proposed design with DCV (not required under 6.4.3.9)

Dear Marcus,

I wish to ask you regarding the Baseline Ventilation rate.

There is no space within this project with spaces >500 ft2 with people density 40/1000 ft2, however we still provide the DCV. The ventilation rate for proposed model is 30% more than the requirement in the ASHRAE 62.1.

My question, do we need to model the baseline ventilation rate same as the Proposed but without DCV?

Best regards,

Iqbal K.

No. If you have DCV in the proposed systems they are modeled as designed. The Baseline is modeled with the calculated minimum requirement from 62.1-2007, so 30% less than the proposed in your case.
