[Boston opportunity] Sustainable Green Tech interns available!

For those of you that attended Greenbuild this year you may have heard about the Legacy project taken on by the USGBCMA Chapter. The winning project was The Green Building Tech Club at Madison Park Technical Vocational High School. The USGBCMA Chapter recently reached out to me and asked if Structure Tone would take on an intern this summer, which we do plan on doing. I hope that other GC's with a presence in the Boston area will consider doing the same. This is a great opportunity for us to tackle that workforce development goal that we'd talked about at Greenbuild!

If you're company is interested please have them reach out to Vernette Allen at vallen@usgbcma.org

Here’s the text from the e-mail we got from the USGBCMA Chapter:

“I am reaching out to see if Structure Tone would be interested in sponsoring a local high school student in this year’s Greenbuild Legacy Project.  With the help of USGBC, Madison Park Vocational High School has started a new afterschool program with the goal of increasing student awareness and interest in green building tech careers. The Green Building Tech Program will inspire the next generation of equipment technicians, building operators and facilities managers in a wide range of green technologies through a year-long program of industry speakers, hands-on equipment demonstrations and field trips to local green building sites. This program will help address the current shortage of technicians, operators and managers with green technology experience. For more information on the Greenbuild Legacy Project please see this link: https://usgbcma.org/blog/announcing-greenbuild-2017-legacy-project

We are asking local Boston companies in the green building, construction, clean-tech and energy fields to sponsor 2018 summer internships for high school students involved in the afterschool program. Through these summer internships we hope to encourage and grow each student to pursue a green building tech career.“
