Hi,
we're modeling a building that will have ventilation ensured by openable windows in each space (compliant with ASHRAE 62.1 requirements). All spaces are endowed with cooling and heating equipments.
Can you please confirm if our hypothesis below are correct:
1) OA flowrates similar in both buildings (equal to 62.1 minimum requirements);
2) no fans modeled in proposed building. Fans modeled in baseline building, according with the type of system defined by table G3.1.1A.
In what relates to free-cooling and heat-recovery devices (that are mandatory in this climate zone) shall we model them in baseline system?

Pay attention, with ASHRAE 62.1-2010 "Natural ventilation systems (...) shall include mechanical ventilation systems" (par. 6.4)
Exceptions:
b. The mechanical ventilation systems are not required when: 1. Natural ventilation openings that comply with
the requirements of Section 6.4 are permanently open or have controls that prevent the openings from being closed during periods of expected occupancy

Can anyone confirm if baseline building shall be modeled with mechanical ventilation systems in this case?
