NC-v4 WEc2:Indoor water use reduction

Actual flowrate per PSI vs labeled flow rate.

Fixtures are labeled as a certain GPM--1.5, for example. However, depending on the PSI, which the plumbing engineer can provide, the actual flow rate may differ. In our case, the flow rate is 1.3 GPM at 80 PSI. Has anyone successfully claimed a lower flow rate and been awarded points?

Hi Kristen, I haven't had this specifically come up on one of my projects, but I have had similar situations with other credits. We have had success when we were able to provide the proof of the difference for operations, and prove that the flow rate would not have the ability to change, especially for the better (meaning that after certification, no one would be able to go back and easily increase the flow rate, in this case). I recommend providing a short narrative explaining the difference, and whatever documentation you can show to prove the different PSI. Hope that helps.
