NC-2009 EAc5:Measurement and Verification

LEED v.2009 NC EA Credit 5

We are designing a Hotel with the following systems:

  • Vertical 2-Pipe Heat Pumps in the Guestrooms (with Central Boiler and Chiller Plant)
  • Ceiling Mounted 2-Pipe Heat Pumps at Common Areas and BOH Spaces.
  • Ducted Make-Up Air and Rooftop Mounted Make-Up Air Units
  • Electric Heat at Stairs Wells
  • LED Lighting throughout
  • A Building Energy Management System will be used (Evolve system or similar)

In this type of configuration, what systems are typically included on the M & V Plan?

All energy consuming and producing systems should be addressed by the M&V Plan. You need to gather data so that you can calibrate the proposed model to the actual utility bills and then create a calibrated baseline to show the savings.
