Partial renovation of a hospital

We are doing a partial renovation of an existing hospital comprised of 4 renovated floors. There will be new systems for these spcaes, but no work on the exterior or site around the building. Normally Iwould say this is an ID+C project, but given that it is healthcare i keep getting steered toward BD+C becuase ID+C does not address healthcare. That is fine, but I don't see how to proceed when BD+C relies on exteriror scope as well and this project has none. It seems tha it wants to be an ID+C for helathcare project, but obviously this is not an option.

Robert - I recently went through this exact same exercise on a healthcare project - and had to "prove" to the owner and team that the project did not fit into the BD+C Healthcare system. You have to go to the 40/60 rule: Start with Area - is the are that is being worked on/renovated less then 40% of the whole hospital square footage? This was the easiest tell, as we were only 'touching" about 10% or less of the total hospital square footage. You also have to look at being able to clearly define the LEED Boundary for the ID+C project...hope this helps. As a side note, I will be putting in requests for certain credits to be "shiffted" to fit more into the healthcare model (utilizing healthcare credit requirements) - I have done this in the past with earlier versions of LEED when the Healthcare rating system came out - not sure if the review body will find this permissable in v4, but it is worth a try!

We are under 40% and delineation is entire floors so the boundary can be defined well. So did you use the ID+C Retail version or Commersial Interiors as your base system?
