CI-v4 EAp2:Minimum energy performance

Minimum Energy Performance Calculator- Required for Option 2?

Hi,

I have a number of small budget projects (which are not performing energy modelling) targetting Option 2 Pescriptive Compliance for Min. Energy Performance. As such the ASHRAE req, Energy Star Products and Lighting Power Density information can all be entered into the LEED Form via LEED Online. The Calculator seems only to be relevant where modelling is being undertaken. However as the reference guide explains option 2 is most applicable for smaller spaces.

In terms of submission, is the Min. Energy Performance calculator only required for option 1?

Thanks

Yes that is the case. The prerequisite form shows you what information you need to provide. There is a separate AEDG Calculator you need to submit under Option 2.

Hi Marcus, I would only need to submit the AEDG calculator if targetting the 'Building Envelope and/or HVAC Systems (2-8 points)' credits, and thus if I am not just the LEED form is fine? Thanks

That is how I read the form as well.

Hi Marcus,   Do we have to upload an AEDG if we are not pursuing the following in the Building Envelope and/or HVAC Systems section? 1. Building envelope, opaque: roofs, walls, floors. slabs. doors and vestibules (2 Points) 2. Building envelope, glazing: vertical fenetration - all orientations (2 Points) 3. HVAC equipment effciency (2 Points)   We are only targeting HVAC zoning and controls (2 Points) for the Building Envelope and/ or HVAC systems section.   Appreciate your feedback on this.

Yes you would still need to complete the AEDG table. Just fill out the applicable portions and mark the rest NA. You still need to do the lighting and Energy Star equipment for the prequisite.
