In Europe, many manufacturers do not have compliant faucets, and test pressure is different to LEED requirements. What we normally suggest is the use of pressure independent aerators that just replace the standard aerators in the faucets. They work with a lot of faucets, should be pretty low cost and allow the architects to select faucets from a larger variety of manufacturers and designs. I am unsure if forum rules prohibit promotion of specific manufacturers. In past projects we used products from www.neoperl.com, not sure if they are available globally. Look for pressure compensating aerators (PCA)

Thanks Jens. But is it acceptable to LEED to use aerators on faucets? The situation is the faucets that were provided didn't comply with the required flowrate for LEED. I'm just new with this field so I really appreciate your reply.

Thanks Jens! Is it accepted to LEED to use aerators? The situation is, the faucets provided exceeds the required min/max flowrate in order to attain LEED pts. Can we provide aerators instead of faucet replacements? I'm just new with this field so your reply is very much appreciated.

Hi. You can search for products on the EPA WaterSense website page, alternatively there is a list of acceptable WaterSense substitutes outside of the U.S. here for LEED v4 projects: https://www.usgbc.org/resources/international-water-labeling-programs The list includes a number of manufacturers.

Aerators and flow restrictors added to private lavatories or showers must also be WaterSense labeled.

We use aerators on basically every project and never got an issue with that.
