NC-v4 LTc4:Surrounding density and diverse uses

1/4 mile radius cuts through building...

The edge of my 1/4 mile radius cuts half way through a couple buildings...would I include half the area in my density calculations, whole, or not include the building at all?

Hi, I have the same issue here. And the buildings on the edge make a difference in the point achievement. Could anybody advise on this? Thanks! -Martina

Running into the same problem. It seems this should be common......

Same question here.  The radius includes portions of existing buildings, while not including the main entrances.

Hi All - First, I think it's important to make sure that you're not doing more work than you need to be. If you meet the credit requirements before having to count those half buildings, then don't bother counting them (credit language: Provided that all land area within the radius is accounted for, project teams must collect only enough density information to demonstrate that values in Table 1 are met or exceeded.) However, if you are relying on these buildings for this point,I don't see why you can't count the percentage of floor area or units which is covered within the 1/4 mile radius.. I've scoured the forums, credit language, and FAQs... it doesn't appear this issue has been directly covered, so if this was my credit I would definitely go for it. Christopher, as for the main entrances, I don't think this applies to the density option, but it might apply to the diverse uses option, as this has to do directly with walking distance.
