Dear Sir, I am working on factory project which targets to reach a LEED 2009 certified level. The process energy loads in this factory is really high, accounts for more than 70% of the total building electricity consumption. Therefore, we will install solar PV system to reduce energy consumption. There will be 2 phases of installation of machines for process. For instance, 1st phase- 5 machines will be installed after construction. 2nd phase- 3 machines will be installed if the business going well, meaning that , in the present case, the project owner are not clear about the schedule of 2nd phase (They said if the business is not good, there will not have the 2nd phase) I would like to ask that: Does it comply to the Minimum energy performance prerequisite if we install solar PV system which generated enough energy for the 1st phase of process energy loads only? ( reach 18% of energy saving based on 5 machines running). The rest of solar PV area (which will be used to reduce energy consumption for the 2nd phase ) will be considered as the incomplete space, and will be installed when the 2nd phase starts. Thank you for your support.
