Hello,
Where can I find a list for USGBC approved programs that certify products to get the point under option 2 -- Products that comply with other USGBC approved multi-attribute frameworks.

Hi Samer,
There are no such programs, I'm afraid. If/when some are approved, they'll show up in the LEED Addenda and--assuming USGBC continues with its recent practice--get added to the actual credit language that appears here on LU and on USGBC.org.

Shouldn't the answer to Samer's question be that you refer to LEED Pilot Credit #112 where the approved Certified Multi-attribute Products and Materials programs are listed? Most, if not all of these programs require third party certification.

Thanks for suggesting that, Bill. I wasn't aware that this Pilot Credit, in addition to being a stand-alone potential innovation point, houses the list of approved programs for the v4 EPDs credit, Option 2. Is that documented somewhere?
Now that v4.1 is out, however, it's also worth noting that you can upgrade to the 4.1 version of this credit. Option 2 in that credit is much easier to achieve, and you can upgrade for this credit without upgrading for all the other credits.

Before I contact a LEED coach for a project-specific response - I'm very curious about any lessons learned since this August 2019 discussion - whether anyone has successfully undergone project review & had products meeting the "other USGBC approved multi-attribute frameworks" (per Pilot credit (v4) MRpc112 "Certified Multi-attribute Products and Materials") accepted toward Optimization / Option 2 compliance yet? (Level furniture, NSF/ANSI standard certified flooring, UL gyp bd, etc.
I am posting the question here, given Bill Freeman's prior reference to it. However, I am particularly interested as it relates to v4.1 attainability, as it COULD make pre-qualifying (10) products much more efficient - these product certifications also seem MORE realistic/logistically (“real world”) feasible to enforce via competitive bid / performance-based Construction material /Tender specifications.
Thus my 3-part question:
1) Has anyone successfully claimed these third-party certified products toward EPD Optimization Option 2 performance / LEED certification review- i.e. – the LEED reviewers did not reject these products?
2) If #1 is YES, is it safe to assume the LEED Option 2 submittal documents must clearly demonstrate compliance threshold as defined in the Pilot credit ; For example, in case of NSF140 carpet, the official product NSF certificates I've found do NOT indicate whether the product achieved "6.3.3.1" per Pilot requirements - so appears the more detailed certification info would have to be requested from/furnished by the Manf. to qualify the product's LCA / embodied carbon reduction specific performance?
3) Also - In the case of v4.1 (with the new 10+ product quota compliance option), I am assuming these framework certified products would safely qualify as (1) product regardless of certification level, but curious if anyone has found otherwise? .......as opposed to being worth (0.5), (1), or (1.5) Product depending on certification?
(Gentle Comment to the Materials TAG)
For context - As Pilot MRpc112 is cost-based, it tiers individual product contributions based on level of 3rd party certification level (e.g., Silver, Gold, etc.) However, any individual product weighting/tiering for this v4.1 Option 2 compliance option would need to officially come from USGBC addendum…. Not seeing a way for Project teams to reasonably determine this since higher levels of certification under the various MRpc112 multi-attribute framework programs may not directly guarantee an increased reduction of the certified Product's embodied carbon/GWP reduction.... thus I am not seeing a viable conversion method using the v4.1 “third party published comparison” embodied carbon weighting metric/criteria.

How can I upgrade this credit alone to LEED V4.1?

You upgrade each credit individually w/in LEED Online. When you log into your project on LEED Online, go to the Credits tab. Find the credit you want to upgrade, and there's a little button the right side of the credit. Just click that, and it will ask you to confirm the switch. Here's a 10 second walkthrough of it.

In addition to what Tommy's described, here are the official instructions for using the v4.1 credit forms that are housed within LEED Online, on the home page: https://www.usgbc.org/articles/how-document-leed-v41-credit-substitutions

i do not believe that the multi-attribute certifications listed in MRpc112 can contribute to EPD Option 2. When I was on the MR TAG, we agreed to extend this Pilot Credit several times, but the programs (NSF-140, NSF-332, etc.) were never compliant with the EPD Option 2 requirements, most notably following the Product Category Rules for their LCA impact reduction analysis. I would be VERY surprised if anyone had ever been successful submitting these certifications for EPD Option 2 since the Pilot Credit existed for many years after LEED v4 launched and no one ever achieved EPD Option 2 in LEED v4.0 (thus the changes we approved in 4.1). USGBC is being a bit slow (my opinion) in publishing the list of compliant programs to contribute to the v4.1 EPD Option 2 credit, but there are actually products that should contribute to it that I would encourage teams to submit in advance of the LEED Addenda. As near as I can tell, there are just over 10 products on the market in non-overlapping categories that have EPD Option 2 documentation (many coatings (50% credit, Sherwin-Williams), several interior panels (3Form), one wallboard (USG), one asphalt coating, a door opening device (Assa Abloy), many carpet tile (Interface (my employer)), one Insulation (Owens Corning), and one toilet (Kohler). It is tight to get to 10 products, but it is now possible for the right kind of project, according to my research. Let me know if you want to see the full list.

This has just (as of last week) become an official pursuit of one of my projects, and so I am trying to assist in identifying anything considered compliant for consideration of inclusion in our project. It is tough to locate, though.

Tough to locate indeed! I'm happy to share what I've found so far after talking to other materials Carbon Action Network participants (www.materialsCAN.org) and friends at certification companies. These all seem to comply with the v4.1 guidance for EPD Option 2, some contributing over one full product, which helps in getting to 10 products quicker.

Thanks so much for taking the time to list them, and with hyperlinks! I hope we're able to keep these related threads going as people are able to identify additional qualifying products.

It looks like the answer to the question was not given. Who can give me more details? I cannot understand how the proposed method works. So it is correct to say that the programs questioned by the author of the thread do not simply exist? I am from https://worldpostalcode.com/united-states/florida/tampa and new to it. So sorry if I ask silly questions.
