Hi all,
I'm modeling an HVAC system in Design Builder + Energy Plus that consists in Air handling units and VRV system. The project involves some water wells connected to a “Water Loop” circuit that serves, as energy source, the building.
These AHUs are served by "UNITS FOR SIMULTANEOUS AND INDEPENDENT PRODUCTION OF HOT AND COLD WATER ", which are connected by the water loop, like the external units of VRV systems. These systems produce heating and cooling water independently from each other (it’s possible to have high power of hot water and simultaneously have little power of chilled water.
Heat pump water-water for Hot domestic water, connected to "UNITS FOR SIMULTANEOUS AND INDEPENDENT PRODUCTION OF HOT AND COLD WATER ", is provided.
I don't know how to model this type of units. I thought to use Heat Pumps Water-Water, because in fact they are Heat Pumps Water-Water, but in this way I loose the free energy in summer. In fact this italian systems have an further heat exchanger that gives the opportunity to get heat in summer to produce hot water for different uses, independently from the cooling produced.
How could I show this energy recovery?

This is probably not the best place to ask software specific questions about how to model something. You can try BLDG-SIM at onebuilding.org or some of the other discussion forums or the Energy Plus help desk.
If the software can't model your system directly then you would need to employ a work around. If you do so for LEED you must follow the exceptional calculation method and ideally base your work around on something that has been published. Often manufacturers of equipment publish such work arounds.
