Dear Marcus
I am writting to enquire about kitchen plugloads in CS. In one of our CS project client wants to include restaurant and kitchen.
Our energy modeling technique for CS is that we assume a exemplary interrior design provided by a client where we set lightning (W/m2) calculated based on electric drawnings (or values contracted in leased agreement) and we set plugloads based on ASHRAE 90.1 Users Manual or values from previous projects.
The problem here is the tenants kitchen where we have no idea how to model schedule or what W/m2 value should we use.
How to deal with this problem? I look forward for Your help.

You can look at LEED Retail which establishes baseline values for kitchen equipment. You can also use the appendicies for COMNET which may provide W/sf values for kitchens and restaurants.

Hi,
I am facing a similar problem. I am developing the energy model for a LEED CS certification and there are several food and beverage tenant spaces where the kitchen is not defined, not even the kitchen size.
What could be a good approach for this case? can I assume a % of the kitchen area regarding the total food and beverage area?
Thanks

For CS projects some credits require you to come up with a typical layout for future tenant spaces. You just need to be able to justify your estimation. So base it on some previous projects of a similar type.
