Canadian LEED market

For us, we saw an increase in 2009/10 due to stimulus spending from the federal government. The same thing is happing now. Government projects generally require LEED certification.

Althought there was a peak in government funding, the simpler answer regarding "registration" is that the CaGBC closed registration for LEED 1.0 on June 2010. A lot of companies, developper and owners registered projects before the sunset date to keep using the older version. I think we can expect the same peak in 2016-2017, as LEED 2009 registration closed on October 2016. A lot of people have probably registered projects to keep using that version instead of moving to LEEDv4. The sunset dates for the older systems are 6 years past the end of regitration, thus giving time to owners plan and build already funded projects.
