hi all,
we are doing a feasibility study on a CS major renovation project located in South Italy. HVAC (that was substituted 7 years ago) and envelope (that do not need to be upgraded) will not be touched.
The scope of work will be the complete refurbishment of the fit out with totally new lighting system and bathrooms.
In addition we will add sun shading devices to the existing envelope (the most cost effective strategy in order to reduce energy consumption in south Italy).
In order to demonstrate the compliance with EAp2, we are checking with a dynamic energy modeling if the proposed design will have energy performance better than 2% compared with the baseline building.
The question is : must I demonstrate the compliance with all the mandatory provision of ASHRAE 90.1 -2010 even if the systems (hvac, envelope, Other Equipment) are not part of the scope of work ?
Thanks in advance for any advice,

No, if you do not modify the systems you do not need to upgrade them including addressing the associated mandatory provisions.
