Schools-NC-v4 LTc7:Reduced parking footprint

Calculations for an Elementary School

We are trying to figure out how to translate our ITE calcs properly for an elementary school project. If done by the book, we must include the entire student population in these calcs, even though they are all under the age of 12 and obviously don't need a parking space. So if I interpret this credit correctly, from now on all elementary school projects will need to pursue this as alternative compliance. Or am I missing something?

Hi Cynthia, the numbers listed in the Reference Guide under the Base Ratios Table (page 115) show 0.25 spaces for every student at an elementary school but there are not additional requirements for staff. Therefore, I am not seeing why an alternative compliance is needed. For example, if you have 500 students, then the base parking count you use for your calculations is 125 spaces. Let me know if I am misunderstanding your question.
