What exactly does LEED mean by residential neighborhood or area?

Only a portion of my complying residential development lies within the ½-mile radius. Will this suffice for credit compliance?

CS-2009 SSc2:Development Density and Community Connectivity

Pedestrian access - Community connectivity

Hello, Our C&S project is located within 1/2 mile radius of more than 10 basic services. There is pedestrian access between the building and the services. However, while one of the services is located within this radius, the pedestrian trajectory to this service slightly exceeds the radius. Will it be acceptable for documenting community connectivity?

This a bit of gray area. The credit only states that the basic services must be within 1/2 mile of a main entrance (if you have more than 1 main entrance, you can use the combination of those 1/2-mile radii) and that they must be pedestrian accessible. There is no requirement for walking distance (unlike for SSc4.1 or the v.4 version of the credit). I would submit the credit. Be sure to let us know how it goes! Anybody else have experience with this?
