CI-2009 IEQc4.3:Low-Emitting Materials—Flooring Systems

Rug

Hello, I am working on a project where it is proposed to lay a rug directly on top of the raised floor in some areas. As, whilst this will act as a floor finish, it is a rug and therefore a lose item, I assume that it does not need to meet the requirements of the credit. Any thoughts would be very much appreciated. Many thanks! Alicia

Hi Alicia, We can refer to the above quote on the bird's eye view: "Are throw rugs subject to the credit requirements? While finding low-emitting throw rugs would be a good idea, they would not be considered "permanently installed" and so would not be subject to credit requirements." I hope that helps.
