Our project in China is a K-12 school which consist of 2 learning buildings, a sport center and a performing center. When we compare the ventilation rates calculated according to ASHRAE 62.1 with LDI's calculation,our's result is significantly higher.And the reason is the diversity factor. Because number of students in classroom is fluctuating, thus they take a diversity factor as 0.5 to calculation the AHU's airflow rate. In out project, classroom employ 100% outdoor air system,so i want to ask whether we have to amount flow rates for each rooms or have any other regulation to design it. I do not fully understand your question. If you are using diversity based on a time factor of how many children are in a single space during a specified time, then that is the wrong application. Diversity is for multizone systems where the sum of each room population is higher than the actual total population at any given time. If you want to vary the OA requirement based on short periods of high occupancy, you should use the short term conditions in 6.2.6.2. If you are complying with LDI, and it is a higher flow rate than ASHRAE 62.1, you are complying with the credit. You may want to provide both calculations so that the reviewer knows that you complied.
