Pilot-Credits MRpc102:Legal Wood

Legal Wood -pilot alternative compliance path

We are very excited about this new legal wood alternative path and a question has come up during the DD phase. We are looking at using reclaimed wood for part of our interior finishes, would there be a way to document this wood and still get the credit?

Hi Dustin - Did you get an answer on this question? I am curious too.

Given the origin of this ACP stemmed from the LEEDv4 Raw Material Sourcing, I referred to Reference Guide. Under Step by Step Guidance, Option 2 Step 1 it notes: "wood must be certifed by the forest stewardship council (fsc) unless it is considered reused, salvaged, or recycled...." I interpret this to mean this ACP evaluation focuses on new/virgin wood material only, excluding value of reclaimed/reused wood entirely since it is not eligible for third party certification.   Thoughts?

Reclaimed wood is not held to the FSC requirements. We had a project in Boston that used wood reclaimed from sunken ships in the Harbor.
